Sydney Nano, University of Sydney’s Post

Last week, Sydney Nano hosted a 3-day training bootcamp for PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and early-to-mid career researchers (EMCRs) to advance their careers, in any industry. Over the course of the bootcamp, our cohort received invaluable training from highly-skilled leaders with opportunities to "learn by doing" and to network with peers, consolidating their knowledge and fostering new ideas. "I have learnt so much from different disciplinary participants (both attendees and presenters) for which I cannot thank you enough." - Dr Shumi Akhtar, Associate Professor at The University of Sydney Business School Thank you to our colleagues who generously gave their time to lead engaging and thought-provoking sessions across a variety of topics: - Research communication - A/Prof Alice Motion - Time management - Dr Gunther Schmidt - Invention vs Innovation - Dr Gunther Schmidt - Strategy - Dr Gunther Schmidt and Prof Stephen Bartlett - User-centric research - Prof Martin Tomitsch - Sustainable research & interdisciplinarity - A/Prof Alice Motion - Leadership - Dr Gunther Schmidt, Rupal Ismin, Greg Robinson, and A/Prof Alice Motion These sessions alongside our networking events throughout the bootcamp have led to emerging multi- and interdisciplinary collaborations within the cohort. We look forward to seeing these ideas crystallise over the coming months, with further opportunities for mentoring by Sydney Nano coaches throughout the year at our Future Leaders events and EMCR Development Node training. #LeadershipInAction #learningbydoing #networking #leadership #management #strategy #research #collaboration #sustainability #interdisciplinarity #multidisciplinarity #emcr #phd #innovation
