Concerts are free of charge and take place at the Spreckels Temple of Music in the Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park.

Regular Sunday concerts start at 1:00 p.m. and usually end between 2:30 and 2:45. There is no intermission. For detailed program information please go to the calendar entry for each concert.

All concerts that feature music of specific nationalities or cultures include costumed guest performers, dancers, singers, and speakers who will enlighten and entertain.

All themes and repertoire are subject to change; all concerts start at 1:00 pm and are on Sundays except July 4 and Labor Day.

    • April 28, 2024 Spring PerfectionThe Symphonic Gershwin, Gustav Holst 2nd Suite in F and much more.
    • May 5 Polish Cultural Celebration – works of Weinberger, Chopin, plus song and dance from the Lowiczanie Polish Folk Ensemble of San Francisco.
    • May 12 A Pops Mom’s Concert – on Mother’s Day in honor of Mothers everywhere.
    • May 19 A Cast of Characters: In “Bay to Breakers Fashion” La Forza Del Destino by Verdi, The Typewriter and more.
    • May 26 Armenian Echos in partnership with the Hamazkayin Armenian Cultural and Educational Assoc. Works by Armenian composers, including the Arutiunian Trumpet Concerto featuring principal trumpet Mark Nemoyten.
    • June 2 Trumpet Palooza – a concert featuring our amazing trumpet section!
    • June 9 Golden Gate Park Band Festival with guest ensembles from around the Bay Area and beyond. The Festival starts June 8. 
    • June 16 Father’s Day / Juneteenth – Featuring Music of African American Composers and Artists.
    • June 23 Songs & Dances including works of Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Sir Arthur Sullivan and Morton Gould.
    • June 30 GGPB annual Pride Concert program featuring LGBTQ composers.
    • July 4 – (Thurs.) A Red, White & Band Independence Day Celebration of American Music.
    • July 7 Treasures of the Band World including Suite of Old American Dances by Bennett, Variations on America by Ives, First Suite in Eb by Holst.
    • July 14 Disney Magic: Band Fantastic including music from Encanto, Frozen, Moana, Mary Poppins and more!
    • July 21 Something Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue including works of Sousa, Leroy Anderson, Claude Bolling and more.
    • July 28 Tune Town – Music for Kids of all ages; Variations on Pop Goes the Weasel,  Barnum & Bailey’s Favorite, music from The Wizard of Oz and more.
    • August 4 – A concert in honor of Neighborhood Emergency Response Teams and First Responders including works of The Beatles, Gershwin, Frank Erickson and more.
    • August 11 Kilts, Ceilidhs, Castles, & Haggis – Music of Scotland with the Dunsmuir Scottish Dancers.
    • August 18 St Stephen’s DayCelebration of Hungarian Culture– With performers from the Hungarian Heritage Foundation, the band will play favorite Hungarian pieces.
    • August 25 – Our annual program in Solidarity with Ukraine featuring many guest performers from the Bay Area Ukrainian community and beyond.
    • September 1 Big Band Day: Glen Miller and more! – Including Big Band jazz classics from the Swing Era and beyond. Dancers welcome!
    • September 2  Labor Day (Mon.) – Winds of  Work: a Labor Day Celebration honoring working people everywhere.
    • September 8 – Viva Mexico! with guests Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Carlos Moreno .
    • September 15 The Emerald Isle in partnership with the United Irish Cultural Center of San Francisco.
    • September 22 Celebrating the Flair of Spanish Flamenco featuring  guest performers from Toque Tercero Flamenco lead by Damien Alvarez.
    • September 29 – no GGPB concert.
    • October 6– Season Closer Sounds from the Screen: Music of Film and TV including music from John Williams, Henry Mancini, Danny Elfman and other famous film composers.

    Concerts are approximately 70 to 90 minutes in length.   Programs subject to change. Check back often for updates. More program details will be on the calendar as they become available.
