all right, so as we mentioned today, a's going to introduce themselves on sacramento soil for the very first time taking on the cubs in their season home opener. All right. But paying to go to the games might cost you a pretty penny. Your reporter, claudette stepanian, is getting answers on why a's fans might be opening their wallets up a little bit more than other fans this season. The a's have officially arrived in sacramento, but seeing them in person might very well cost you. That's kind of a lot, actually. 181 according to ticket resale website game time, the a's have the highest median ticket price for a home game in major league baseball, coming in at $181. The la dodgers getting knocked down to number two at 177, the san francisco giants falling well below, both at 89. You know what? If that's the price they got to pay to get to a better stadium, that's great. Jason rosiak teaches sports marketing at sacramento state. He says the buzz around the a's and the smaller stadium is what's driving up ticket prices. You got a classic supply demand imbalance here. And so historically speaking, you had stadiums that are built that are 30,000, 40,000 capacity stadiums, but now you have a stadium where a major league baseball team is playing in a 14,000 seat capacity stadium. Rashawn lewis says he's not one to miss game in oakland, but says the prices are higher than what he's paid to see them at the coliseum. I plan on I plan on coming out here at least once to see if I like it. If I don't like it, then I won't come back. I'm going to still, still support them. Brodziak says there are ways to make it affordable. Every seat is a great seat, so you don't have to have the perfect seats behind the dugout. You can have a seat that's towards the outfield, he says. Stay flexible to go on a weeknight weeknight tickets are significantly cheaper. Could be half the price of weekend tickets. Lewis suggests passing on the food. You know, adults like garlic fries. Sodas, some some of the adults like adult beverages, and that's going to cost. They're also going to face a 25% import tax no later than may 3rd. We heard from shoppers who bought cars over the weekend in anticipation of these tariffs. It's unclear if the starting date of these tariffs is going to remain in place. And new numbers in this morning show gas prices in the sacramento area. No surprise here. They have gone up about $0.16 per gallon over the last week. Gasbuddy's latest report shows the price per gallon is now $4.70 per gallon. In sacramento. It is $0.14 lower than a month ago, but in stockton the average is 447. In modesto, 454. That's up $0.17 since last week. Well, a major financial boost to help san joaquin county envision a healthier future. Federal government granted the county $25 million to improve air quality and transportation efficiency. Now this funding going to go towards 11 different projects, from replacing diesel busses with electric vehicles to installing more solar panels.
