Lighting of the Green

The Lipscomb University community is celebrating the 19th anniversary of its traditional start to the holiday season with beloved Nashville entertainer Amy Grant and special friends, including Drew and Ellie Holcomb and Corrina Gill, at the annual Lighting of the Green. This year’s edition is set for Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena Mall. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. with the FREE concert to follow at 6 p.m.

Joining Grant this year will be special surprise musical guests along with Lipscomb’s ensemble Sanctuary and Gospel Choir and choirs from Lipscomb Academy and Lipscomb University. The event will take place outside in the Allen Arena Mall and seating will be first come, first served. For those unable to attend the event, join us virtually by live streaming the event. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Lipscomb Dining Services in the concession stands in the Allen Arena Mall area and in Lipscomb’s Bennett Campus Center (Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, Local Eats, Boar's Head Deli, Uncle Dave’s Deli and Wild Blue Asian Fusion) and Student Activities Center (Freshens).

Merry Marketplace

Merry Marketplace, a collection of holiday vendors who donate a portion of their proceeds to benefit Associated Women for Lipscomb scholarships to Lipscomb, is also a traditional feature of Lighting of the Green festivities. The Marketplace will take place in the North Lobby of Allen Arena on the Gold Level Concourse beginning at 4 p.m.

Free pictures with Santa begin at 4:30 p.m. in McQuiddy Gymnasium located in the North Lobby of Allen Arena. The evening will conclude with the lighting of a Christmas tree in the Allen Arena Mall.

Shuttle Services & Parking

Shuttles will run Tuesday, November 28 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. from Woodmont Hills Church (3710 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37204) to provide ample parking for our community and our guests who will join us for this festive evening!

Surface parking in the Shinn Center lot will be blocked off from 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Overflow parking will be available in the Stokes lot and Lipscomb Academy football field lots (1027 Caldwell Lane, Nashville, TN 37215). Handicap parking will be available in the Allen Arena parking garage.
