An organ recital series is coming to the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Professor Davis Folkerts is a lifelong musician, graduating from Central College as an organ performance major. Folkerts earned a doctorate degree while spending time as a professor at Central, and is now showcasing his talents in Knoxville. Folkerts says each recital will feature seasonal selections, beginning with an autumn and Thanksgiving theme in November.

“That will be a recital with music having to do with the fall, autumn themes. We include Reformation, and of course Thanksgiving. So it’s easy to find a lot of seasonal music for this time of year.”

The recitals will be the first Thursday of each month, except for January, at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville, beginning at noon each day. Hear more from Davis Folkerts on today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
