Vanderbilt University will celebrate Disability Awareness Month in March, with more than 10 campus partners and organizations collaborating on a series of events aimed at raising awareness and appreciating the contributions of the disability community.

“Disability comes with a broad visible and invisible diversity,” said Yu (Wendy) Wu, associate program manager in the Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. “Working with student leaders and campus partners on the planning for Disability Awareness Month strengthened my understanding of the rich dimensions of this community. I appreciate all the passion and contributions they have brought to Vanderbilt.”

Disability Awareness Month events will cover a broad range of topics related to disability at Vanderbilt, including enhancing the university community’s understanding of diverse perspectives; fostering a sense of belonging for students, faculty and staff; and highlighting the support for the disability community taking place on campus.
