Fond du Lac County 4-H LEGO Club Wraps Up First Year

Tracy Keifenheim, 4-H Program Educator

The Fond du Lac County 4-H LEGO Club has been meeting monthly since September. Youth leaders Makayla and Noah have been putting together meeting agendas, topics to be covered, and discussing presentation styles and facilitation skills. Youth members consist of youth from kindergarten through junior high school. The club held its last meeting of the year in June.

The June meeting consisted of compiling all of the skills and knowledge learned over the past months during the LEGO Master building challenge.  Youth competed in teams to create a park theme build in one hour! Some of the build included campgrounds and waterparks.  Youth were judged after the build by local celebrity judges, Ron Jakubisin, Extension Positive Youth Development Educator, and Tiffany Brault, Fond du Lac City Council member. The youth were judged on 5 categories: presentation, originality, complexity of space, use of color, and piece story.

Congratulations to the winners!
Logan K and Macy K- Best Presentation
Elijah G and Eleanor G- Best Originiality
Silas R and Kelby H- Best Complexity by Space
Jack B and Ellie B- Best Piece Story and Best Overall
