UHS 24-Hour Nurse Advice Line

512-475-6877 (NURS)

If you need assistance after 5 p.m. on weekdays or during weekends and are not automatically redirected, please call the St. David's Hospital After-Hours Line at 512-770-4585.

View information regarding your eligibility to use the 24/7 UHS Nurse Advice Line and your current location.

Call for advice about how to care for an illness or injury at home or to receive guidance about whether and how soon you should see a healthcare provider.

UHS nurses answer the Advice Line weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. When UHS is closed, St. David’s Hospital triage nurses answer the Advice Line and can provide advice as noted above. However, they cannot schedule UHS appointments, refer you to specific facilities or help you with medication refills or administrative issues.

If you are currently located outside of the State of Texas and are calling about a problem or concern not previously evaluated by a UHS provider; UHS providers are licensed in the State of Texas only. If you are not currently in Texas, please seek care where you are by contacting a local nurse advice line, urgent care or hospital.

*Per the Nurse Licensure Compact, nurses working the UHS 24/7 Nurse Advice Line cannot provide care for students who are currently located within the following states:

  • Alaska
