APA San Francisco Board of Directors Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in serving on the Board of Directors for APA San Francisco! 
We're thrilled you're here, we're sure you have questions, and so do we. 

Serving on the board has many perks - it can be personally and professionally fulfilling, and keeps you involved in our local photographic community. Our board is tasked with, and takes pride in, shaping the future of our chapter, the programming we provide, our membership value, and the community that we serve. The time commitment for general board members is estimated at around 6-8 hours per month. 

In addition to serving as a general Director, there are also opportunities to fill an Officer position, such as Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, or Treasurer, each of which comes with a set of additional duties, specific to their role. The time commitment for Officers of the Board is estimated at 10-12 hours per month. 

APA is a National Organization, with a National Executive Board who governs the overall direction of the organization. There are several chapters around the country, each of which operating as its own 501(c)6) not for profit, governed by their own Board of Directors, and operated by an employed Director (: ie: President/CEO). 

In addition to the overall mission of APA National, APA San Francisco has established the following as our chapter Mission Statement: 

"APA San Francisco encompasses Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Northern Nevada, Montana, and Alaska….. 

We are the San Francisco Chapter of the APA.  Our mission is to build and educate our local photographic community.  Within our chapter we are building a village, one that represents our members, our up and coming youth, the well seasoned and the ever evolving photographic artists of the Bay Area and the greater North West.  Ours is a community in which we may all grow stronger, through shared knowledge and intentional community support. We value education and community above all else and commit to putting forth the energy it takes to to be transparent with, to support, to advocate for, and to celebrate our photographic community."
