The annual SRCA Showcase of student research and creative work provides the opportunity for students to take part in supportive, academic conference-style presentation sessions and for the campus and community to learn about our students’ research projects and scholarly/creative work.

Call for Presenters

Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to participate in the Showcase by making a poster, slideshow, or other presentation about their research project, artwork, internships or other experiential learning that they wish to share.

With input from your faculty or staff advisor, write an abstract (summary) about your project and submit your presentation information and abstract via the SRCA Showcase Sign Up Form. Deadline has been extended to Saturday, March 30!

Mike and Lori Lahns

The 2024 SRCA Showcase will kick off with a keynote address on Wednesday, April 24 by Mike and Lori Lahn ’86. Mike is an Emergency Physician for the past 30 years. Lori Lahn is an Attorney and Health Care Analyst. They graduated together from SUNY Oneonta in 1986. Mike went on to receive his M.D. from The Chicago Medical School in 1990. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and has spent most of his career working in economically deprived areas of the Bronx in New York City. He has been the medical director of many EMS, Fire and Police Departments. Lori went on to receive her law degree from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law and a master’s in Public Health Administration from New York University. Lori has been a hospice volunteer and a food bank driver. Together, they have been involved with an international non-government organization: Bridges to Community, which engages in community development in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. In the last 10 years, they have organized and participated in almost 20 volunteer trips to those countries, frequently with friends and members of their family. Michael is the chairperson of the board of directors of the organization.
