What is the Carbon to Value Initiative?

The C2V Initiative is a unique partnership that leverages corporate involvement and incubation services to drive the creation of a thriving innovation ecosystem for the commercialization of carbontech—technologies that capture and convert carbon dioxide (CO₂) into valuable end products or services.

How does C2V help carbontech startups? 

C2V is first and foremost a partnerships accelerator that provides an opportunity to work hands-on with corporations,nonprofits and governments at the forefront of the emerging carbontech economy. Startups selected to participate in Year 3 of the program gain access to the Carbontech Leadership Council (CLC), an invitation-only group of executive leaders across diverse industry sectors driving the future of carbontech. Additionally, startups will benefit from customized workshop programming and access to resources and mentorship from the Urban Future Lab, Greentown Labs, Fraunhofer USA and Fraunhofer Gesellschaft networks.

What is the timeline for the 2023 program?

The C2V Initiative is a six-month accelerator program that includes 80+ hours of customized workshop programming. Startups can also expect to devote time outside of the program workshops. Key program dates are as follows: 

Who is eligible to apply?

Potential applicants must demonstrate through a competitive application process that the technology, product or service is not only differentiated and scalable, but also incorporates captured carbon as the major input for an overall carbon neutral or carbon negative impact. 

Startups that are at a technology readiness level (TRL) between 4 and 7, actively investigating product-market fit and seeking partnerships to scale are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Applicants may apply from anywhere in the world. Events will take place both in-person in New York City, Boston, or Houston, and virtually.
