“Carolina” hitmakers Parmalee team up with “The Git Up” phenom Blanco Brown for a new collab titled “Just the Way,” mixing positive, feel-good vibes with meant-to-be romance.

A spiritually-minded ode to finding flawless perfection in the one you love, the track features a hip-pocketed groove and the hand-in-hand energy of a couple comfortable in their relationship — but it’s far from stale. Led by piano and crisp country sonics — plus a synthesized pop edge — it was written by Parmalee’s Matt Thomas with Kevin Bard and Nolan Sipe, and shows off a burst of unexpected creative chemistry.

“We met Blanco a couple of years ago and immediately hit it off,” Thomas tells Sounds Like Nashville. “We’ve always wanted to do a song together and when we recorded ‘Just the Way,’ we knew it was the one. Blanco’s all about positivity and purpose and we knew he could help us deliver the message of this song. These days it seems like there’s so much pressure for everyone to be perfect all the time, but that ain’t real. What’s real is loving someone just the way they are. That’s what the songs all about.”

“It’s all about what meets the heart, love them for who they are,” Brown adds. “That’s just the way!”

“I love you just the way God made you, girl He don’t make mistakes / What you call your imperfections, I call beautiful babe / So let my eyes be your mirror, and you’re bound to see it too / ‘Cause I was made for loving, just the way God made you,” goes the heartwarming chorus.

“Just the Way” is out now after Parmalee and Brown debuted it during Sunday Night Football in early December. For Brown, it follows his breakout international hit, “The Git Up” — one of Sounds Like Nashville’s 20 Best Singles of 2019 — and Parmalee fans can hear it on the road as the band continues to tour through 2020.
