Max Misch back in court after violating conditions of release
Police say Misch went to a bar in New York state on Aug. 10
Max Misch, a self-described white supremacist, appeared in court again Monday after Bennington police say he violated his conditions of release.
Misch was charged with contempt of court on Saturday after traveling to a bar in New York state on Aug. 10. His conditions of release stipulated he not leave Bennington County without permission of the court, which wasn't granted.
The Vermont Attorney General's Office says Misch also got in touch with a person he was prohibited from contacting.
Misch is awaiting trial for charges stemming from Vermont's high-capacity magazine ban.
Court documents say Misch visited Unihog, a bar located in Hoosick Falls, New York, which is 15-minute drive away from Bennington.
While at the bar, Misch ordered a beer before someone recognized him and sent a Facebook message to a Bennington Police Department detective, the documents say.
That Facebook message ultimately landed Misch back in court.
On Monday, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Provided Misch doesn't violate any more of his conditions of release, he is due in court again on Sep. 9.
