Celebrate Cultures in Nature: Star Festival

Discover unique historical tales about the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks as we celebrate different cultures together! Each month, a different culture and celebration will be highlighted, usually with the program presented in multiple languages which allows everyone to fully enjoy the beauty of the land.

This month we will focus on the grand stars above for the Japanese celebration, The Star Festival! Also known as Tanabata, this festival stems from legend of how the Milky Way separates two lovers, represented by the stars Vega and Altair, and they can only meet once a year on this festive day. Come hear tales of this festival as we enjoy our evening sky!

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.
