Welcome to the Tisch Initiative for Creative Research!

Launched in September 2014 by Dean Allyson Green, TCR began as a pilot effort to identify and establish a set of best practices for supporting research – in all the modalities present and imagined at the country’s preeminent center for the study of the performing, cinematic, and emerging media arts.

Since that time, and guided by our Mission and Goals, TCR has become a research nexus, supporting and highlighting inter-disiciplinary and collaborative research led by members of the Tisch community, and strengthening research culture across the school. In 2020, and in response to student concerns in the wake of social uprisings, we affirmed our commitment to students by creating two new resource opportunities: HEAR US (Honoring, Elevating, and Recapitalizing Underrepresented Stories) and the Student Research Fund.
