Timely Warning

June 27, 2019

A female enrolled in North Orange Continuing Education coursework on the Cypress campus reported to Campus Safety that a man groped her repeatedly while on campus. The man, she reported, coerced her to get into his car at a nearby bus stop and drove her to campus, where the alleged sexual battery occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident is being investigated by members of the Cypress Police Department. The NOCE student said she agreed to get in the car because she feared for her safety if she did not comply with the request.

The student immediately reported the incident to Cypress College Campus Safety, who coordinated with local police agencies to investigate the incident. The investigation is ongoing. She described the suspect as a 30-year-old black man, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 inches tall, skinny, bald, with a full beard and mustache. He was wearing a gray, long-sleeved shirt; khaki pants; and brown shoes. He also had a small, black ink tattoo on his upper right wrist.

The vehicle involved was a gray, four-door Nissan sedan.

Anyone with information about the incident or about the suspect should contact Campus Safety at (714) 484-7387. Imminent threats should be reported to 911.

Students and employees are reminded to report incidents or suspicious behavior to Campus Safety and/or Cypress Police immediately.
