Anchor Down. Step Up. merchandise store reopens, new items available

The Vanderbilt community answered the call this semester to Anchor Down and Step Up to help slow the spread of COVID-19. These efforts were commemorated in a collection of limited-edition merchandise available for purchase in an online store. Now, by popular demand, the store is open again for a limited time and features three new items.

Proceeds from the sale of items in the Anchor Down. Step Up. Pop-up Store will continue to benefit Vanderbilt’s COVID-19 Research and Innovation Fund, which supports researchers and innovators from across the university addressing the medical, societal and interpersonal effects of the pandemic, and Opportunity Vanderbilt, the university’s financial aid program that meets 100 percent of eligible students’ demonstrated need without loans.

New merchandise in the store includes an enamel pin featuring Vanderbilt’s squirrel mascot in a Rosie the Riveter-style pose, and a long-sleeve T-shirt as well as a hoodie featuring the graphic design of the popular “We’re in this Together” illustration.

In addition, items that were previously available—such as frameable prints, t-shirts, stickers and enamel pins—are returning. The beloved plush squirrel with a removable face mask is also back.

Vanderbilt’s Division of Communications commissioned Nashville-based Anderson Design Group to create the artworks, and local artist and animator Susanna Pritchett designed the squirrel illustration featured on the enamel pins as well as many of the campaign posters across campus.
