Galloway, N.J. – Three Stockton University student-athletes were voted to the
CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Qudratullah Qadiri (Ocean Twp./Ocean Twp.) was selected Academic All-District for the second straight year.
Qadiri was joined by teammates
Daniel Do (Galloway/Absegami) and
Darren Wan (Egg Harbor Twp./Egg Harbor Twp.), each of whom were recognized for the first time. Competitors from the Stockton track & field and cross country programs earned Academic All-District honors for the seventh consecutive year.
Do is a junior who competes for the Osprey cross country and track & field teams. He is majoring in biochemistry/molecular biology and chemistry, and he boasts a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Do is two-time NJAC First Team runner in cross country who has two wins and 11 top-10 finishes in his career. He has been Stockton's top finisher in 15 of the 20 career meets in which he has raced.
On the track, Do holds school records in the indoor 3000m run and outdoor 5000m run. He has qualified for the Atlantic Region Championships twice and he has one career victory.
Qadiri is a senior with a 3.95 GPA as a biology major. He earned four NJAC Second Team accolades in track & field, three in the pole vault and one in the decathlon. In addition, he was the 2017 NJAC Rookie of the Year for the indoor season. Qadiri qualified for five consecutive Atlantic Region Championships meets (indoor and outdoor combined).
For his work in the classroom, Qadiri was named NJAC All-Academic First Team and Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar in 2019. This spring, he was selected as the student speaker for the Stockton commencement ceremony, however the event unfortunately was canceled due to COVID-19.
Wan is a junior with a 3.99 grade point average majoring in Business/Finance. He has collected two NJAC Second Team kudos and one NJAC Honorable Mention nod while competing in the throwing events for the Ospreys. Wan also has qualified for the Atlantic Region Championships twice.
This spring, Wan broke the 35-year-old school record in the indoor weight throw and finished the season ranked 25th in the nation in the event, narrowly missing qualification for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Academic All-District honorees advance to the national ballot, from which CoSIDA Academic All-Americans will be selected in June.
