Online Accompaniment: Summer 2020 Colloquia Registration Form
Journeying with youth toward a hope-filled future is one of the Universal Apostolic Preferences guiding the work of Jesuits and lay partners in the next ten years. The concept of accompaniment, walking with a person toward their fulfillment, is deeply rooted in the Ignatian tradition.

During this period of physical distancing, faculty and staff have found ways to accompany students, providing person-centered care in the midst of uncertainty. We invite you to model this “cyber-personalis” we may all have to adopt more often going forward. Together we will reflect on our contexts and experiences that will lead to actively and collaboratively generating resources for your colleagues. Together in mission, we will continue to offer transformative education

Two colloquia, one for faculty and one for staff, will meet remotely three times over the summer. Both groups will meet together at the end of the summer to highlight key insights from their conversations and help each other navigate the challenges and opportunities of the coming academic year. All participants will engage short readings and other media on the topic of accompaniment in the Ignatian tradition.

The goal of this professional development opportunity is to build an online collection of resources for faculty and staff colleagues to not only inform online practices but help us all think more intentionally about the meaning of accompaniment in Jesuit education.
