In-Store Volunteer
The Store operates as a year-round free grocery store allowing people to shop for their basic needs. There is no charge to those referred or to the people and agencies that send them. They may shop for food to supplement their income during times of crisis and as they work toward self-sufficiency.
We are dependent on a volunteer base that is excited and passionate about building a better Nashville and Middle Tennessee. These volunteer shifts will involve greeting customers, helping people with questions while they shop, checking people out at the register, bagging groceries, checking temperatures on the cooler/freezer/produce coolers, end of the day cleanup, maintaining store cleanliness throughout the day, stocking shelves as needed, unloading pallets, stocking the produce section, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
You will be able to take a break during your shift, so you are welcome to bring a snack and drink for break time. In terms of our covid policy, we currently do not require masks for volunteers or customers. However, if you are not vaccinated, we highly encourage wearing a mask while inside The Store, but they are optional.
Some shifts may be busier than others so we appreciate your patience while we navigate these new volunteer positions.
