What is The Learning Community?

The Learning Community is the hub for the CSBG Network to share innovative approaches and access proven strategies to move families and communities forward. Comprised of topical Learning Community Groups (LCGs), members of The Learning Community consist of a cadre of agencies that are currently working on a program or service delivery strategy related to specific anti-poverty focus areas.

Learning Community members meet either virtually or in-person and assist each other by:

• Discussing what works;
• Sharing data findings;
• Solving problems; and
• Offering support for implementing new ideas, unmet needs, new organizational goals, or proving that a strategy works

What Are The Focus Areas of The Learning Community?

All participants in The Learning Community are members of one or more Learning Community Groups (LCGs).  LCG members receive specialized T/TA and guidance from peer experts and subject matter experts to help facilitate their learning process. The LCG environment is structured to be open and conducive to experimentation, so that participants are provided the flexibility needed to decide which methods work best for the needs of their individual agency. Learning Community Groups are organized into two levels of engagement:  intensive LCGs, and communities of practice (COP). Additionally the Learning Community Resource Center engages the entire network in this learning process, through our weekly national webinar series: Webinar Wednesdays. The Learning Community Resource Center works to highlight and lift-up LCG successes and lessons learned, and shares those best practices with the entire CSBG Network.
