Description
Each year, in honor of Chucky Mullins, Sigma Nu selects an individual living with paralysis as the primary recipient of Charity Bowl. In recent years, Charity Bowl has also benefited the Manning Foundation and the William Magee Center for Wellness Education. Usually, the Charity Bowl football game takes place in the Vaught and a full-contact game is played between Sigma Nu and another fraternity who bids to play. This year due to the Covid-19 pandemic we had to change the way the Charity Bowl looks. We are going to host a Charity Bowl Gala and a Charity Bowl flag football tournament. For the tournament, we plan on playing at the Intramural Fields and following the intramural guidelines for players to be wearing masks during the game. We plan on hiring officials from campus recreation to come in and officiate our games. We will be playing Kappa Sigma Fraternity this year and we plan on having four Sigma Nu teams and four Kappa Sigma teams in the tournament. We will have Dr. Crowther in attendance as a doctor present, who can supervise. There will be a total of 7 games played and we do not expect the tournament to last more than four hours including set up.
