Collegeville, Pa. – Stockton University (4-0) scored 16 goals in the first half and cruised to a 20-2 victory over Westminster College (1-6) to remain perfect on the season.
Casey Shultz (Sewell/Washington Twp.) led the Ospreys with five goals and one assist.
Michelle Pascrell (Howell/Freehold Twp.) and
Jade Rivera (Toms River/Jackson Liberty) each chipped in with three goals and an assist.
Holly Yannacone (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) tossed in three goals while
Kristen Russo (Wayne/Wayne Hills) dished a game-high five assists.
The teams exchanged goals in the first three minutes, with
Nicole Jandras (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) netting the first of her two tallies for Stockton. The Ospreys then reeled off 13 unanswered goals over the next 19 minutes.
Shultz led the onslaught with four goals, followed by Pascrell and Rivera with three apiece. Yannacone, Jandras and
Jennifer Toal (Pine Beach/Toms River South) each found the net once. After Westminster ended the run of 13 straight, Yannacone and
Remi Reinhardt (Wall Twp./Wall) scored to make it a 16-2 advantage at halftime.
The Ospreys were content to keep possession of the ball and run the clock in the second half. Shultz, Yannacone, Reinhardt and
Jessica Catalioto (Ringwood/Lakeland) tossed in one goal apiece in the second stanza as Stockton coasted to the 20-2 triumph.
Stockton goalkeepers
Stevie Ader (Califon/Voorhees) and
Jordan Hawkes (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) played 34 and 26 minutes respectively. Each goalie made one save.
Marisa Keller and Emily Kushner were the goal scorers for Westminster. Titans' goalie Emma Bradley finished with seven saves.
