Move-instudents moving in

General Information

  • Every student will be required to have a move-in appointment in order to complete the online check-in process and move into their assigned residence hall or apartment. Students without a move-in appointment, or students arriving prior to their move-in appointment, will not be permitted to move-in. There will be no exceptions.
  • You will need your student ID. Your student ID serves as your building and room key. If you do not have one, go to the student ID center prior to arrival to your building.
  • Students will utilize online check-in to check themselves into their room or apartment. Once you have arrived on campus during your designated move-in appointment time, login to the Student Housing Portal and select Check-in from the red menu bar. Once you have completed the online check-in process, access to your room will be activated on your student ID.

Move-in Schedule 

Fall 2024 Move-In is Sunday, August 18 and Monday, August 19. Classes begin on Monday, August 26.

Additional move-in dates have been established for the following groups:

  • Move-in for registered Panhellenic Recruitment participants – Tuesday, August 13 (all University owned residence halls and apartments), Wednesday, August 14 (all University owned residence halls and apartments), and Thursday, August 15 (remaining floors in Martin and Crosby). 
  • Move-in for new, incoming first-year Honors College members, Luckyday Scholars, and students living at The Quarters Oxford – Saturday, August 17. 

Early move-in may not be available to students moving into master lease communities. Move-in dates are determined by when the apartment complex can provide Student Housing access to the master lease units, which may not allow for early move-in. Please see the 2024 Move-in Schedule for more details.

Move-in appointments will be utilized for all University owned and managed communities. Every student will need a move-in appointment, regardless of their move-in day and room assignment. All move-in appointments will be pre-assigned by Student Housing based on the student’s room assignment (building and floor within the building). Appointment times will be emailed to students in early July, once room change is no longer available.

USS, a company specializing in move-in processes and logistics, is an Ole Miss partner and will be providing assistance to students living in the locations listed below. All other locations will have university volunteers providing assistance.
