The Center for Student Engagement will offer multiple opportunities in the coming weeks for students to connect with student clubs, organizations, campus programs and local service agencies.
All the fairs and general info sessions listed below will be offered virtually to allow students to meet safely and directly with peer leaders and program representatives.

Student Club and Involvement Fairs, Sept. 1, 2 & 3
Learn all about the many student organizations and other opportunities open to students at SUNY New Paltz on the following days and times:

Emerging Leaders Program for first-year students
If you are a first-year student interested in meeting new people, learning about yourself and others, and gaining valuable experience, then this is the program for you!
The SUNY New Paltz Emerging Leaders Program is a fun and dynamic learning opportunity that will encourage you to explore an understanding of self, an understanding of others, and an understanding of what it means to be a productive community member.
The program will introduce you to leadership and followership through hands-on activities, discussion groups, and self-reflection. Meet the Emerging Leaders program at the fairs above, look out for upcoming General Information Session, or sign up online.
Join the New Paltz Student Association!
The New Paltz Student Assocation (NPSA) is is the primary representative and governing body of SUNY New Paltz students, with a budget of $1.3 million funded by the Student Activity Fee. NPSA recognizes student clubs and organizations; provides services such as local transportation and legal services; allocates money for students to attend conferences and student research; supports the Campus Child Care Center; and much more!
There are multiple opportunities this semester for students to become candidates to serve on the Student Association Executive Board or Student Senate. Any member of the Student Association (any currently enrolled student who is paying the Student Activities Fee) may be eligible to run. Candidates must have at least a 2.0 GPA and be in good academic standing with SUNY New Paltz. Candidates may not serve on the election committee.
Use this link to submit your candidacy no later than Sept. 3 at 12 p.m.
Campus-wide elections will take place beginning Monday, Sept. 14, through Thursday, Sept. 17.
For this election, there are at least 22 Student Senator positions available. The top 10 vote-getting candidates will acquire a full-year seat. All remaining available seats will be filled with a one semester seat. Also, for this election, the following Executive Board positions are available:
- President
- Executive Vice President
- Vice President for Academic Affairs and Governance
- Vice President for Finance
- Vice President for Programming
- Vice President for Marketing and Communication (pending approval of constitutional amendment)
