WHITEWATER, Wis. — Junior Shelvin Garrett II led UW-Whitewater’s men’s track and field team to second place in the annual Leonard “Squig” Converse Invitational by setting a program record in the triple jump.

Garrett, a Beloit Memorial High School graduate, registered a career-best mark of 15.41 meters (50-feet, 6.75 inches) to win the event, breaking the 10-year-old program record by over two inches. The mark is the best in NCAA Division III so far this season.
