The parents of a young girl who got her arm stuck in an elevator door have a warning for other families as they take legal action. The family says 5-year-old Zoe Garatziotis simply had her hand on the door when her entire arm got sucked into the space between the door and the elevator wall. Watch the full news coverage now: https://lnkd.in/eZrWq3wr "If you look at where the door goes in, it's a really small gap, it can fit a couple of pieces of paper, that's how it should have been, the gap was too big," said attorney Edward Capozzi, Chair, Brach Eichler Injury Lawyers. Capozzi said the family is looking for compensation but they are hoping more companies, including the elevator operator, add warning signage to the elevator to prevent what happened to Zoe from happening to anyone else. #ElevatorSafety #ChildSafety #HobokenNJ #Lawsuit #ElevatorIncident #SafetyFirst #LegalAction #PublicSafety

"In Missouri, it feels as though they have really closed down every door in terms of reproductive autonomy," says Kristen Marinaccio (Family Law Services at Brach Eichler), an attorney and expert in divorce law who has examined these kinds of laws in Missouri and other states. She says beyond the legal and financial ties of marriage, there is powerful emotional weight to legally terminating a marriage. "You might just think, well, it's a piece of paper," she says, "but that piece of paper that tells you you're no longer in this horrible marriage is really freeing for a lot of clients." The law is meant to prevent overspending, unnecessary services, unfair competition, and skewed medical decision-making. In the absence of a specific exception or safe harbor, however, drugmakers must be careful not to run afoul of these fraud and abuse laws anytime they provide support services that can be associated with the sale of their products through government payor programs. "The regulations prohibit, basically, incentivizing anyone from generating business for you," said Isabelle Bibet-Kalinyak, an attorney and vice chair of the healthcare practice group at the law firm Brach Eichler. "Every time there is an exchange of money or the write-off of something in healthcare, we have to analyze this." 🔗 Read the full article now: https://lnkd.in/gesmeZAp
