The following notice applies to our residents and small businesses that participated in the CCA electricity supply contract with Columbia through July 18, 2022.

Our municipality participated in a community choice aggregation (CCA) electricity supply program through Hudson Valley Community Power (HVCP) with the program’s previous electricity supplier Columbia Utilities Power, LLC (Columbia), from July 2021 until the contract ended prematurely in July 2022.

All the municipalities participating in Hudson Valley Community Power (HVCP), and the program administrator Joule Assets, have come to a legal settlement with Columbia to compensate HVCP program participants for the premature termination of the electricity supply contract. The Public Service Commission also intervened in support of the legal case.

Local Government Efficiency Planning Meeting and Presentation 2025

Local Government Efficiency Planning Meeting and Presentation 2025

————————
We look forward to hosting our Government Efficiency Planning Meeting and Presentation on Tuesday, April 29th at 7pm at Village Hall at 25 Plattekill Ave. The consultant we hired, Laberge Group, will be joining to give a presentation on the process.

The Village of New Paltz Board has resolved to explore the option of dissolution of the Village government, which would result in absorption of governance and services by the Town of New Paltz. The Village has received a New York State Citizen Reorganization Grant (CREG) to fund the development of the Dissolution Plan.

Please join us in person, watch from home, or rewatch later. We are looking forward to engaging our community to ask thoughtful questions to help us flesh out a promising plan.
