This is a running list of schools and colleges in Colorado that are closed because of the outbreak of the coronavirus. This list will be updated periodically and at least once a day. This was last updated on March 17 at 3 p.m.


K-12

  • 27-J Schools in Brighton has closed all schools through March 27.
  • Adams 12 Schools will close all schools March 16-27.
  • Adams 14 Schools will close all schools from March 16-27.
  • Academy School District 20 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • The Academy will be closed March 16-20 and will move to remote learning March 23-27.
  • The Art Garage will be closed between March 16-April 7.
  • Aspen School District schools will be closed March 16-20.
  • Aurora Public Schools will extend spring break an extra week. Students will be off March 16-27.
  • Boulder Valley School District has closed all schools through the end of spring break, March 27.
  • Calhan School District closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Cherry Creek Schools will close all schools from March 13-27. That includes daycare.
  • Cheyenne Mountain School District 12 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Colorado School for Deaf and Blind closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Colorado Springs School District 11 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Cory Elementary School in Denver is closed March 11-12 after a parent of two students tested positive
  • Cripple Creek-Victor School District closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Dawson School discontinued all classes and school activities from March 13-30.
  • Denver Academy will be closed March 16-30.
  • Denver Public Schools will extend spring break and close all schools from March 16 through April 6.
  • Douglas County School District closed all school facilities from March 17-27.
  • Eagle County School District closed all schools through April 8.
  • Edison Elementary School is closed Thursday after a parent of a child at the school tested positive for the new coronavirus
  • Elbert 200 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Ellicott 22 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Englewood School District will extend their break and close all schools between March 16 and March 30.
  • Falcon School District 49 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Garfield RE2 closed schools from March 16-20 before spring break begins.
  • Gunnison Watershed School District suspending classes for 2 weeks to reduce coronavirus risk
  • Hanover School District #28 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Harrison District 2 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Jeffco Public Schools is closing all schools March 16-20 and teaching virtually, which is followed by spring break, March 23-27.
  • John H. Amesse Elementary School is closed Thursday after a family member of a child at the school tested positive for the new coronavirus
  • Lewis-Palmer School District #38 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Littleton Public Schools closed from March 16-29. All after-school activities, athletics, events and performances will remain suspended through April 5.
  • Lotus School for Excellence will close March 13 through March 27.
  • Manitou Springs District 14 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Mapleton School District closed between March 16-27.
  • Miami-Yoder JT60 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Peyton School District closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Pikes Peak BOCES closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Platte Canyon School District is closed from March 16-29.
  • Roaring Fork School District RE1 closed from March 16-27.
  • Salida School District closed all schools from March 16-27.
  • Steamboat Springs closed all schools from March 16-27.
  • St. Vrain Valley School District has closed all schools through the end of spring break, March 27.
  • Westminster Public Schools will close March 16-27.
  • Widefield School District 3 closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.
  • Woodland Park School District closed all school facilities for 14 days from March 16-27.

Higher Ed

  • Colorado Christian University is moving to remote learning beginning Friday, March 20 through the rest of the semester.
  • Colorado College suspends in-person classes, moving to remote learning on March 30
  • Colorado Mesa University moves classes online for two weeks following spring break from March 23-April 5
  • Colorado School of Mines will go online-only beginning March 30, following spring break
  • Colorado State University cancels in-person classes starting March 25. The Fort Collins campus’ spring break begins March 14 and has been extended through March 24, with online courses resuming the following day and continuing until April 10, at which point the campus will re-evaluate the situation and act accordingly.
  • Community College of Aurora is starting spring break a week early, beginning March 16 through March 29. Starting March 30, classes and exams at CCA’s CentreTech and Lowry campuses will be conducted remotely.
  • Fort Lewis College in Durango will convene classes as scheduled Thursday and Friday preceding spring break. Classes following spring break on March 23 and 24 are canceled. Courses will be moved online from March 25 through April 6, and the college will update the campus community about the future from there.
  • Front Range Community College is canceling classes the week of March 16 on the Boulder and Westminster campuses and the week of March 23 on the Larimer campus. Starting March 30, classes on all campuses will resume, mostly online.
  • Metropolitan State University of Denver is going online-only beginning March 30, likely for the remainder of the semester
  • Naropa University in Boulder is moving to remote education beginning March 30 after students return from spring break, which starts March 23
  • Relay Graduate School of Education Denver is moving to remote learning on March 12 through at least April 6.
  • Regis University will suspend on-campus classes March 16-18 and begin online learning March 19 through April 13.
  • University of Colorado: CU Boulder cancels classes on March 13 and moves to online classes beginning March 16; CU Denver moves to online classes by March 30; CU Colorado Springs moves to online classes on March 30, resumes in-person classes on April 14
  • University of Denver will move to online-courses, including at the Sturm College of Law, beginning March 17 and running at least until April 10. In-person final exams, which begin on Tuesday, are being moved online. In-person Interterm classes during spring break are canceled, but online courses will continue.
  • University of Northern Colorado in Greeley is transitioning to online education beginning March 23, following spring break, and through April 5. Face-to-face teaching is scheduled to resume April 6, but that could change.
  • U.S. Air Force Academy closed the campus to visitors on March 13 at 5 p.m.
  • Western Colorado University moves classes online beginning Monday, March 23 through at least Friday, April 3. Classes scheduled for Friday, March 13 are canceled.
