CBS NEWS NAMES NIKOLE KILLION A WASHINGTON, D.C.-BASED CORRESPONDENT FOR CBS NEWSPATH
 
Nikole Killion has been named a correspondent for CBS Newspath, it was announced today by Tim Gaughan, CBS News Vice President of News Services. In her new role, Killion will report for the CBS Newspath bureau in Washington, D.C. Killion’s reporting will be featured on local news broadcasts across more than 200 CBS affiliates nationwide, and she will also be seen on CBS News broadcasts and platforms, including the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH JEFF GLOR, CBS THIS MORNING and others.
 
“Nikole possesses all of the traits we look for in a Washington, D.C. correspondent,” said Gaughan. “She has the experience in covering the Capitol and the knowledge of local journalism that will help our affiliates deliver the latest, best-sourced information their viewers expect from CBS News.” 
 
Killion comes to CBS News from Hearst Television’s Washington, D.C. bureau where she had been a correspondent since 2007. A veteran D.C. journalist, Killion has covered the 2008, 2012 and 2016 presidential campaigns in addition to the 2010 and 2014 midterm elections. She also reported on the shootings of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO, and Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, as well as the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. 
 
Prior to her years at Hearst, Killion covered the Capitol area as an anchor/reporter for WJLA-TV and an anchor for WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, MD. She also worked at BET and NY1 News after beginning her career at NBC News in New York.
 
Killion graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Journalism. She is a member of the White House Correspondents' Association and the National Association of Black Journalists.
