The Parenting For Black Lives Series engages Black communities in conversations related to this question: How do we make the lives of Black children matter? This question is prompted by the most recent racial justice movement calling for the undoing of everything, from policies to practices to perspectives, that delegitimizes Black lives, inhibits Black possibilities, and makes Black people vulnerable to premature death. Many people and organizations have offered solutions for what the world would look like if we worked to make Black Lives Matter. For us, part of that work looks like confronting how anti-Black racism shaped how we were parented and how we parent while also helping us build practices to raise free Black children.
