About the Weekend: The second annual Black44 Professional Development Retreat Weekend, in partnership with the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, is a gathering of former Presidential appointees who served President Barack Obama during his term in office at the White House and at agencies throughout the Federal government. Former appointees will arrive in Washington, D.C. to build relationships, foster progressive dialogue on critical issues, hear from thought leaders and distingushed guests, and develop strategies for building a stronger and more inclusive nation. Black44 is comprised of thought leaders and trailblazers working in various sectors and industries to continue the legacy of President Obama. The inaugural retreat held in October 2016 was a success with over 200 appointees and special guests in attendance, including then Senior Advisor to the President, Valerie Jarrett. Supporting this well networked and civic-minded group ensures access to the brightest talent and leading voices on the issues of our time.
Organized by
Black44 is the affinity group created to ensure that former Black Obama appointees stay connected post-Administration.
