The Appleseed Cast releasing first album in 6 years (listen to "Time The Destroyer")

Emo vets turned post-rockers The Appleseed Cast will release The Fleeting Light of Impermanence, the band’s first album in six years, on June 28 via Graveface. (Pre-order yours.) Guiding force Chris Crisci, along with the rest of the band (Sean Bergman, Ben Kimball, and Nick Fredrickson), constructed the album from hundreds of sonic vignettes, piecing them together as songs before going into the studio early this year. The first single from the album is “Time The Destroyer,” a surging, slow-build of a track powered by layers of keyboards, strings, and other instruments until the guitars come crashing in. The song makes its premiere in this post and you can listen below.

The Appleseed Cast were just in NYC as part of their tour with mewithoutYou and Cursive, which wraps up this week. They’ll be back out on the road in June with Tennis System and in July with Young Jesus, with August dates as well. All dates are listed below.
