Shredding and Electronics Collection Event

Join our Recycling and Sustainability team for a free recycling event for Gresham and Wood Village residents.

What we’re collecting

  • Sensitive documents and papers for shredding. Limit two grocery bags per household.
  • Electronics (working and non-working).

Accepted electronics

  • Computers, smartphones, tablets, printers, TVs and audio/video systems.
  • Related accessories: Keyboards, mice, cables, cords and chargers.

Not accepted electronics

  • Items over 100 lbs
  • Household appliances including dehumidifiers, air conditioners, smoke detectors, microwave ovens, etc.
  • Biohazards contact items including toothbrush heads, blood testing devices, and anything touching insects or vermin droppings.
  • Larger lithium-ion batteries from mobility devices, e-bikes, etc.

What happens to electronic donations?

Gresham is partnering with Free Geek, a nonprofit organization that safely and securely refurbishes locally donated technology and redistributes it at no or low cost. Free Geek helps the communities most impacted by digital inequity by providing vulnerable populations with the digital literacy skills they need to succeed and thrive. What cannot be refurbished is recycled in an environmentally responsible manner.
