Jake Owen has been taking notes from Katy Perry.
At the 2015 CMT Awards show, the country singer performed the track "Real Life," complete with a beachy set and carefree backup dancers. Though there was no Left Shark, there were some enthusiastic dancing donuts.

The 33-year-old country star's laid-back performance kicked off with him being carried onto the stage in a giant bed. As one should.
From there, it was all beach party fun vibes and down home lyrics like: "This is real life in the real world/We ain’t talking to no models/We got real girls/We get real low, we get real high/It ain’t all good baby but it’s all right."
The 2015 CMT Awards was hosted by Pitch Perfect star Brittany Snow and sportscaster Erin Andrews. Other big performers included a smorgasbord of country stars like Darius Rucker, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum and Carrie Underwood.
