Country singer Gabby Barrett performed her song “The Good Ones” for Variety‘s Power of Young Hollywood special.
One of this year’s honorees, Barrett told Variety that she wrote the ballad about her husband Cade Foehner, who joined her on guitar during the performance.
“I thought back to when my husband and I were dating during ‘American Idol,’ because we were on the same season of ‘American Idol’ in 2018,” Barrett said. “A lot of my family would ask me, ‘Oh, how’s your boyfriend doing?’ and I’d be like, ‘He’s good, he’s a good one, he’s a keeper.’ And that kind of just stuck with me.”
