Walcott-Ayers tabbed to lead Puget Sound Sports Medicine

TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound Director of Athletics Amy Hackett is excited to announce that Brandon Walcott-Ayers is the Loggers' new Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Student-Athlete Wellness.

Walcott-Ayers is very familiar with the Northwest Conference landscape, having spent four-and-half years as an assistant athletic trainer at Lewis & Clark.

"We are excited to have Brandon join our program at such a pivotal point in advancing our Performance Success program," said Hackett. "He is a highly regarded sports medicine professional, and certainly having someone familiar with our conference is a bonus."

"I am incredibly grateful to Amy Hackett for the opportunity to join the Loggers," said Walcott-Ayers. "This is a very exciting opportunity, and I am overjoyed to join the Puget Sound Sports Medicine team. I am very thankful to Lewis & Clark for all of their support through the years, but I am very much looking forward to stepping into a new role and continuing the high level of care expected at Puget Sound."

Walcott-Ayers earned his master's degree in athletic training at Pacific University, and he got his bachelor's degree in human physiology from the University of Oregon.  He started his career as an assistant athletic trainer in the San Francisco Giants organization, and he was an assistant athletic trainer at Western Oregon (NCAA D-II) for two years.

In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations for sports medicine, Walcott-Ayers will continue to build on the new Puget Sound Performance Success Program (click HERE for information).

"I am eager to get started and work with the fantastic athletic trainers at Puget Sound, as well as the high achieving student-athletes at the university. My fiancée and I can't wait to explore the city of Tacoma and all that it has to offer."
