According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2023/24 marketing year totaled 18.4 MMT, sitting 3% ahead of last year’s pace. Total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2024/25 marketing year totaled 1.6 MMT, sitting 145% ahead of last year’s pace.
Net reductions of 109,600 MT were reported for 2023/24, primarily for Japan (39,605 HRW, 13,920 HRS, 8,655 white), Mexico (10,266 HRW, 14,901 SRW, 24,919 HRS), Algeria (34,656 DUR), Dominican Republic (11,152 HRW, 7,072 SRW, 3,944 HRS), and Italy (18,806 DUR). Net sales of 285,900 MT for 2024/2025 were primarily for the Philippines (94,000 MT), South Korea (65,000 MT), Thailand (54,500 MT), Panama (25,000 MT), and Honduras (22,900 MT).
USDA forecasts 2023/24 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to total 19.3 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 95% of total projected exports.
