A female member of the UO community reported that on Thursday, June 12, approximately 8:30 p.m., they were running on 18th Avenue near the Pioneer Cemetery when a fist-sized rock was thrown from a passing vehicle, hitting them in the back. A derogatory statement regarding gender was yelled.
The vehicle is described as a grey/silver sedan with tinted windows. The suspect is described as a 20- to 30-year-old male.
Campus community members should use caution and be aware as at least one other incident involving objects ejected from a vehicle has occurred in the campus area recently. If you have any information on this or similar incidents, contact the University of Oregon Police Department at 541-346-2919.
