Session One: NCBI Resources for Human Genomic Research (9am-12pm)

This workshop covers a range of genome analysis topics, including an understanding of genome builds and their relationship to assemblies and a­­­nnotation releases; human genetic variation; and the types of data NCBI has from experimental studies (BioProject, GEO, dbGaP, and SRA). We focus on web-based databases and tools, but we can also discuss bulk downloading and APIs.

Session Two: NCBI Resources for Human Pathogen Research (1pm-4pm)

In this this workshop you will learn to use NCBI web-based resources to access and analyze human pathogen data from individual isolates and microbiomes. You will explore some general resources for all organisms as well as some newly developed systems for viruses and bacteria.
