The School of Medicine Research Staff Awards are given each year to honor exemplary staff members across the research enterprise including Research Assistants, Senior Research Specialists, Research Nurses, Core Facility Managers, Core Research Assistants, and Research Support Staff. Their contributions to research are unmatched and invaluable to the science conducted at Vanderbilt. Research Staff Award recipients will receive a $1,000 cash prize and will be honored at an awards luncheon.

  • Edward E. Price Jr. Award for Excellence in Basic Research – recognizing excellence in conducting basic research

  • Award for Excellence in Research Contributing to Multi-Investigator Teams – recognizing excellence in research contributing to multi-disciplinary teams​

 

Eligibility:

Eligible staff include Core Facility staff at all levels, Research Assistants I, II, & III, Senior Research Specialists, Research Nurses, Research Support Staff, or any staff member who provides exemplary research support. Faculty members, research fellows, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students are not eligible.
 

Nomination Instructions: 

Candidates are nominated by faculty members with whom they work most closely. Nomination packages must include:

  • a completed nomination form
  • a nomination letter (completed by nominator)
  • at minimum one, and at most three, accompanying support letters 
  • the nominee's CV
