FLEx Fair: Sioux Falls Christian

Jessica DeWit, TfT Director and Coach at Sioux Falls Christian, provides the following context to their staff FLEx Fair:

Creating community partnerships–finding real people–can be a common hurdle for teachers in the process of developing a great Formational Learning Experience. This year the staff at Sioux Falls Christian kicked off their FLEx work by inviting a variety of individuals and organizations to their school and hosting a FLEx Fair. Teachers had the opportunity to choose from different sessions and hear from experts about the real work, real needs, and educational opportunities with real people in the Sioux Falls area. Staff were able to ask questions and brainstorm ideas about how they could partner and empower students to experience classroom learning as Kingdom building work.

Deep Hope

My deep hope for this day is that we will deepen our FLEx understanding/expertise and make new connections with Sioux Falls community members, with the goal of empowering students to do God’s kingdom work. I hope we are creative, curious, and build community!

Learning Targets

  • I can be courageous and curious in my FLEx learning.
  • I can build new connections with Sioux Falls community members.
  • I can begin to design and develop a new FLEx experience that will empower students to use what they are learning in school for real kingdom work.
