HIFF Celebrates the Oscars

Well, EVERYTHING EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE certainly cleaned up at the 95th Annual Academy Awards®, winning Best Picture, Best Directors and Best Original Screenplay (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), and Best Editing! We are thrilled for the directors, who joined us at HIFF30, along with Best Supporting Actress nominee Stephanie Hsu, our HIFF30 Breakthrough Artist, and producer Jonathan Wang. Special shoutout to A24 for taking home all the evening’s biggest awards!

Other HIFF30 films that took home prizes include WOMEN TALKING (Best Adapted Screenplay for writer/director Sarah Polley), THE WHALE (Best Actor Brendan Fraser and Best Makeup and Hairstyling), and NAVALNY, our SummerDocs 2022 selection, which won the Best Documentary Feature prize.
