Dozens of volunteers planted new trees in South Los Angeles, a culmination of years of research turned into action and a milestone for the USC Urban Trees Initiative. Founded by USC Dornsife Public Exchange, the initiative brought together city leaders, community groups and university researchers from environmental studies, landscape architecture, spatial sciences and more to determine which tree species to plant and where. A total of 250 trees will be planted in South LA and University Park neighborhoods.
