Undergraduate VCIC 2024 Winners!!!! Having been the first undergraduate team representing Carnegie Mellon University to win a regional VCIC this February, the 6 Scottie Ventures members on our competitions team (pictured below left to right: Meher Sujay Kaky, Pratyay Didwania, Ethan KK Yeo, Saaketh Chennaiahgari, Aditi Shimpi, Darren Grendi) went on to win the overall competition at the final round in UNC Chapel Hill this past weekend. Global VCIC (https://www.vcic.org/) is the world’s largest venture capital competition where a total of 48 undergraduate teams competed for 8 spots at the Global Finals. In this event, students get to be VCs for the day and simulate the fundraising process for real startups, getting involved in due diligence sessions, panel partner meetings and negotiations. A big thanks to Sreekar Gadde, Jim Jen and Don Herzog for their mentorship, as well as Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship and Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business for their support! Thanks to Patrick Vernon and VCIC (Venture Capital Investment Competition) for putting on a great event.

Scottie Ventures is Carnegie Mellon's venture capital and private equity club based out of the Swartz Center in Pittsburgh, PA. We educate CMU undergraduates, select analysts from them, and partner our analysts with top-tier VC, PE, and Growth firms through our internship program. Scottie Ventures teaches aspiring entrepreneurs and investors about venture capital through classroom training and experiential learning through both internships and competitions. 📢 📢 The 2024 McGinnis Venture Competition winners are announced! Graduate Track: First Place ($25K): J.P. Robotics, mapping big problems in small pipes using robotics and AI. Team members: Tina Tian Second Place ($15K): Galen Health, AI for Early Detection of Pancreatic Cancer. Team members include: Logan Nye, MD (Swartz Fellow) and Kushagra Agarwal. Third Place ($10K): Sitewiz, AI-driven iterative optimization for e-Commerce websites. Team members include: Ram Potham (Innovation Scholar), @Rohit Malhotra and Drake Som. Undergraduate Track: First Place ($4K): Assurif.ai, boosts efficiency for mortgage underwriters in lower markets, plagued by redundant tasks making up to 75% of workflow. Team members include Alex Chen, Joey Park, Andrew Kang, Erik Wang and Meher Sujay Kaky. Second Place (2.5K): KnitFit, custom-fits compression garments using machine knitting.
