INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- For the third consecutive year, the IUP women's volleyball program has been selected to the NCAA DII Tournament, earning the second seed in the Atlantic Region during Monday night's selection show.
IUP was selected as the No.2 seed and will face No. 7 Shepherd in the opening round of the tournament set for Thursday, December 5.
Gannon will host the eight-team Atlantic Region Tournament, following winning the PSAC West title. Gannon was the PSAC Championship runner-up, behind IUP who claimed the title for the second time in program history. Five teams from the PSAC were named to the eight-team regional tournament field with two teams making up the Mountain East Conference (MEC) and one representative from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
IUP earned a bid into the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row and 12th time throughout program history. The longest NCAA Tournament appearance run was from 2000-2006, seven straight years. In 2001, 2006, and last season, the Hawks finished as regional runners-up.

Lorelle Hoyer, enter the tournament with a 23-8 overall record and 10-4 in the PSAC. Coach Hoyer has led the Hawks to their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
