This year’s event will be held Thursday, Nov 10 from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn. The Reception is an “open house” so come anytime between 4:30 – 7:30pm to enjoy networking with colleagues, food, beverages, and the academic college CRIMSON CUP COMPETITION! This means the RI Crimson Cup is up for grabs (ownership of the engraved Cup for the year, bragging rights, and up to $2,000 in research support funds). Second place will receive a certificate and up to $1,000 in research support funds.
Because IUP's Strategic Plan clearly states increasing extramural activities is a priority, the criteria for the Cup competition includes not only attendance at the Reception but proposals submitted and awards received. The factors that will determine the winner (and runner up) of this year's Crimson Cup are as follows:
1. % of increase in the number of proposals submitted from FY1718 to FY1819 (worth 25%)
2. % of increase in the number of awards received from FY1718 to FY1819 (worth 25%)
3. % of attendance at the Researchers' Reception (worth 50%)
As always, we will obtain a list of faculty/staff by college from IUP's Human Resources to get a base from which to calculate % of attendance. Please note that students (including student workers, graduate assistants, band members, immediate and extended family members) will not count toward your attendance numbers.
