We deconstruct how "labels" create in-groups and out-groups—by exploring the historical and cultural significance of the terminologies Hispanic, Latino/a, and Latinx. In a system that exploits and marginalizes people of color, ethnic identifiers can strengthen a subordinate group's collective identity or destroy it. We conclude the conversation by looking forward, being a rana.
