North Side-based investment firm Innovation Works Inc. celebrated the latest round of startups receiving financial support from the organization during a showcase event at its AlphaLab Gear accelerator space in East Liberty Thursday night.

The event started off with a pitch presentation form each of the seven companies that received investment and concluded with a networking and happy hour reception.

All startups received an investment of at least $50,000 in convertible notes to further build out their ideas or products, though some were eligible for larger checks or had already obtained them due to prior involvement in IW programs.

Two of the seven startups that received investment, geospatial data capture platform developers Allvision IO and sustainable business procurement supplier Kloopify, previously received recognition as one of the 10 Startups to Watch in 2023 from Pittsburgh Inno.
