Don’t Panic! Top 10 Questions about the SOAR Online Course Practice Case

  1. I forgot my password / I can’t log-in / I am locked out!
  • First, click the “Request New Password” tab on the Log-in page. Check your Junk Mail for the reset password email!

  • If you made too many unsuccessful log-in attempts and are locked out, visit http://www.refreshyourcache.com for instructions on clearing your browsing history/cache. You can also try using a different internet browser.
 
  1. How do I access and save the forms that I need to complete for the Practice Case?
    Five SSA forms, a Medical Summary Report (MSR) Template, and other helpful documents are provided on the Class 1 Practice Case page (Meet Your Client) in the “Practice Case Materials” box. Follow the instructions carefully in the “Tasks for this Class” box for saving the forms to your computer. See Working with SOAR Online Course SSA Forms for futher details.
 
  1. I am filling out the forms but they are saving blank! I have tried 3 times, and I am getting frustrated!!

  1. I don’t know enough about my fictional applicant to complete the required forms and MSR.
    Be sure you are reviewing all of the information provided about your applicant. There are interview videos on the Class 1, 2, & 3 Practice Case pages.  Progress Notes and Medical records are provided in the “Practice Case Materials” box on the Class 2, 3 & 4 Practice Case pages.
 
  1. How do I upload my completed forms?
    You will be prompted to upload/add completed forms to your Practice Case File on the Class 2, 4, 5, & 6 Practice Case pages. Follow the instructions provided for uploading.
 
  1. I uploaded the wrong form! How do I fix it?
    As long as you haven’t submitted your packet to the SOAR TA Center, you can return to the Practice Case page where you originally uploaded the incorrect version.  Click “Replace.”  You will now have the option to upload a different form. Be sure to click "Save and Continue."
 
  1. I got through Class 4 and have uploaded some documents.  But I just logged in and I am back at the beginning.  Is the work I have done lost?
    When you log-in to the SOARWorks website and click on “SOAR Online Course,” you will always arrive on the homepage of the course. Use the Navigation bar on the right side of the page to get to where you left off.  To help guide you, gray flags should appear next to any article you have already visited. On any Practice Case page, you can see documents you have uploaded in the “Your Practice Case Application Packet” box.
 
  1. I submitted my packet a while ago, but haven’t heard back from the TA Center
    We ask for a 10-business day turnaround time. If it has been longer than that, are you sure you submitted your packet? On the Class 7 Practice Case page (Review and Submit Application) you must click the red button, “Submit Completed Application Packet and Complete Course.”
 
  1. I began the Course last year but have switched jobs. Do I need to create a new account/start over?
    No—you may pick up where you left off.  Log-in using your old email and then update your account settings. While there is a suggested timeframe for completing the course, it is not required.
 
  1. I received an email that I need to resubmit some of my materials, but I can’t upload them into the course.
    Once you have submitted a packet, documents can no longer be uploaded within the course.  Use the link provided in the email you received to submit revised materials.
